Welcome to 2026
As we ease into 2026 and close the door on this 9-year cycle, the new year begins with a quiet whisper.
Not with a bang or a burst of energy.
But a subtle tone that says, “I’m here, welcome. Nestle in and we’ll begin soon.”
It’s the energy of snuggling into the sofa with your blanket, snacks and drinks before the movie starts. It’s the cozy preparation for the excitement ahead.
Although each calendar year carries a new energy and tone, it’s important to remember that it’s still the middle of winter.
And while we humans are banging on about “new year, new me,” the Earth and all her elements are still sleeping.
Still firmly holding all the energy in her roots beneath the soil.
But as we move closer toward the Spring Equinox, we’ll begin to see signs of stirring.
Signs of life - those cyclical, yearly miracles - dancing their way up to the surface to meet the strengthening sun.
But for now, we - as a part of nature - can also share in this stillness a bit longer.
Gently holding onto the pause, the quiet, the inwardness for just a few months more.
Continuing to move through our inner (and outer) winter before we wake up with the Earth come Spring.
So that whisper of welcome, that murmur of hope and the promise of expansive sunny skies to come…it’s real, it’s gentle and it’s greeting you with open arms.
But you don’t have to do anything.
Come in, sit down and continue the reflection.
You’ll know when it’s time to stir.
